Brynne is 8 Months Old!!
Brynne is 8 months old today!! I can't believe it, I feel like I JUST wrote the 7 month post! Mondays are usually our lazy day, we both stay in our pajamas and I try to get caught up on laundry from the weekend and Brynne will sometimes nap a little longer since she doesn't get much of a morning nap on Sundays at church.
I can't remember if I mentioned it last month, but she is now in a size 4 diaper! She is wearing mostly 12 month clothes, but one piece outfits do not fit her torso... She got that from me! There are a few 6-9 month things that I am making work since they were gifts, but I am definitely not buying any.
Last month I said I thought she would be crawling by the time I wrote this post. Well she is not officially crawling, but she can definitely get where she wants to go! She does a combination of trying to crawl, scooting on her butt, rolling, and leaning over and moving her butt 180 degrees, haha!
Funny, funny girl!!
I can't believe how much her hair has grown since we were in Tennessee! It's getting pretty thick on top.
It will now hold a bow... This is very important, haha!
This month (last weekend) she learned how to go from laying down to sitting up on her own! This one is pretty convenient for momma!! She is also trying to pull up and can pull up to her knees. Because of this, we finally had to lower the mattress in her crib.
This is her mischievious look :)
She can also stand up while holding onto something for a little bit, but she doesn't last long... 22 pounds is a lot to hold up!!
She still doesn't have any teeth, but as you can tell, she will chew on anything that comes close to her mouth, haha!
I wish I could get a picture or video of it, but she also learned how to clap. She has done the conventional palms together clapping a few times, but usually she does one hand on top of the other. It is so cute!
I just adjusted her schedule last week and she now eats every four hours instead of 3. She started not being as interested in nursing and was VERY easily distracted! She would only last a couple of minutes before she was done. Now on the four hour schedule, she is back on track!
It has been a great month and I am looking forward to what the 9th month holds!
I weighed her on our scale today and she was about 22 pounds. I tried to measure her too, which was difficult, but I think she is around 28 inches.

Bye Bye Bouncy!
Brynne LOVED her bouncy seat from a very young age! Even before we moved when she was two months old, she would go wild in it!! Once she got bigger and stronger, she could really get that thing going! She also took pretty much all of her naps in it until she was 5 months old. Once she quit napping in it and got more mobile, I just didn't put her in it much. I finally decided, once she hadn't been in it in a month, that it was time to quit wasting space and put it up. I also put up her play mats. I would definitely say we got our money out of this thing!
I was sad to see it go, but I am loving the stage Brynne is in right now!

Giggles
Brynne is not a big laugher and she is NOT ticklish, which means there is NO way she is my child! I blame it on all of the fat, she just can't feel it, haha!! Since they are so few and far between, I love to hear the giggles when they come around.
This is from when we were in TN and Allison was tickling her:
This one is kind of hit or miss... Sometimes she thinks it's funny, but sometimes she just looks at you like you are crazy!
I was using a bag of frozen peas to ice my hands one night. I was hitting the bag to break up the chunks of peas and I heard Brynne laughing. I didn't know what she was laughing at at first, but soon realized it was the sound of the bag! She laughed several minutes before I finally got Chris to get out the camera.
This was just from us playing one day :)

Grandaddy's Meatloaf
Chris and I are huge fans of my dad's meatloaf! I made some the other night and it was delicious!! Since we have been giving Brynne some finger foods, I decided to let her try some meatloaf and carrots.
I'm not sure how much actually made it in her mouth, but she was "chewing" so I assume at least some made it in. And based on the mmm mmm mmmm I heard the whole time she was eating, I would say she liked it!

Yum Yum!
Brynne loves her food... In case you couldn't tell by her thighs :) Everytime I have given her something new, I have had the video camera ready and waiting for that awful face. She tried green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potato, butternut squash, pears, prunes, applesauce, and peaches and she didn't make a face with any of them! She just wanted more, haha! I would post the videos, but there's not much to them.
Sometimes she gets a hold of the spoon and won't let go, so I just give in and let her have it. (This would be the reason she is naked in most of her pictures now!) Here are some of the more memorable experiences, haha!
She almost looks possessed here!
Mmmm, good stuff!
What?!? I'm done eating?? Sometimes I have to cut her off because I think she might give herself a stomach ache if she ate anymore!
When I first gave her a Mum-Mum, this was her reaction:
It had to be a texture thing because they have practically no flavor. I bought some banana flavored ones and she likes those a little better, but is still not a huge fan! They will at least keep her entertained for a little while!
She also had this same reaction to avocado and banana. I tried making the bananas myself and they just don't work well. She did not like the texture and ended up gagging on it and projectile vomiting everything she had eaten :( I decided to try store bought banana and she liked it much better (I however could not stand the smell of them!). I can sometimes sneak the avocado in with something else and she won't notice, but she definitely doesn't like it by itself!!
I am looking forward to starting more finger foods soon! I'm sure there will be more food posts with that :)

Like Mother, Like Daughter
Pretty much everyone that knows me, knows my love of Honey Nut Cheerios! I have eaten them just about everyday since I have been eating solid food!! Right now I am eating a bowl in the morning and a bowl right before bed. Since I have been nursing I have had to eat a LOT more and if I don't eat right before I go to bed I am starving in the middle of the night! Even with the bowl of cereal, there are nights I still have to get up and eat a granola bar!
This is what our cabinet looks like some of the time. There are usually at least 2 boxes in there and now there is also a box of regular Cheerios for Brynne :)
This was one of the first time she was able to get any in her mouth. If I try to give them to her, she doesn't try to pick them up, she just eats them out of my hand like a little bird! haha! It's pretty funny, but doesn't help her with that pincer grasp!
A lot of times I will give her a few while I am getting her baby food ready and she is definitely getting better with the pincer grasp! Below is a video of her first Cheerios :) She was having a hard time because they kept getting stuck to her lip.
She definitely LOVES her Cheerios now! I think she would eat them all day if I let her!

Playtime Fun!
Every now and then I will just take pictures of Brynne playing. Sometimes she does funny things like this:
And she was perfectly content being all wrapped up like a burrito :)
I get so many compliments on her pretty blue eyes, I hope they stay this blue!
She absolutely loves this blanket! It is a blanket we gave my Aunt Chris a long time ago. I has sort of a chenille type feeling. I am contemplating cutting it up and making smaller lovey type blankets for her! Only problem is I like the blanket too!!
I just sat her in front of the couch with it in front of her and she played for quite a while!
These are from a couple of weeks ago... Now she can get to it herself! She isn't crawling yet, but she somehow manages to scoot on her butt to get where she wants!!
This isn't exactly playing, but sometimes when I'm changing her diaper she will play with her feet. Sometimes she sucks on her big toe... I guess it's kind of like her thumb? haha!
She likes this toy if you haven't noticed :)
The little wafer thing she has is a Baby Mum Mum. That and avocados are pretty much the only food she doesn't like! She makes a terrible face with both. I have them on video, I will try to post those later!
She definitely likes to play with the Mum Mums though!
